Hola de Baja Beans

The sun is shining, the coffee is flowing and waves are shaping up here at Baja Beans here in Pescadero, Mexico! The 2015-16 winter season kicked off this past November with a solid start with new staff members, fresh ideas, and new product.
Our weekly Farmer’s Market continues to thrive - the colorful collection of local artisan crafts, fresh harvested goods, live music and friendly faces is growing each year. Stop by on your way to work for a latte, or spend the afternoon listening to music while you browse the booths. There is always a little something for everyone!

We are wrapping up from a busy winter and taking some time to enjoy Baja's summer & gearing up for another busy season come fall! With this past New Year also came our new harvest of fresh shade-grown coffee beans from the mountains of Veracruz - the source here at Baja Beans. Our yearly migration to the family-owned and operated farm in the mountains of Veracruz, Mexico keeps us in touch with the heart and soul of our coffee. It is from here that we thrive to provide you with the #coffeetocup experience in your hand. It's all about the bean!

We have acres of shade-grown coffee plants ripening each season to perfection before their annual harvest in January where we hand select only the finest beans. Each individual grain of coffee tastes different depending from which region it was harvested.

Our beans are planted, harvested, roasted, packaged, and served by hand.

All of the grains aqcuire the combined fine flavours and excellent balance of acidity and body from the region of Mexico where the beans are grown. After harvesting and careful inspection, our beans are hand bagged and sent here to Pescadero where we roast in-house, small batch coffee.

We roast all of our beans with a 1986 German Probat Roaster at our Pescadero Warehouse.

We currently offer three different roasts here at Baja Beans:

Baja Midnight: Our dark- medium roast combines the flavor of smokey woods with a dash of cocoas and spice to create a full-bodied taste.
Brew Method: Espresso, Drip, or French Press

Percy Dark: "Pescy" for Pescadero, our French roast has the earthiness of tobacco with a strong yet mellow French roast flavor.
Brew Method: French Press or Drip

La Casa: Our espresso blend is just the right combination of medium and dark roast beans to create a beautifully fruity, flavourful and well-balanced espresso.
Brew Method: Espresso or Drip

Thank you for spending time to catch up with us on our journey through the seasons. We hope you enjoyed your visit in el Pescadero, Mexico and look forward to seeing you all again soon!
